The elaborate hoax included posting pictures of baby items and gifts, such as an expensive pram and car seat, purchased by well-wishers who believed a real baby was on the way.
The supposed birth announcement of Kira’s “daughter” in October was later exposed as a lie when her mother discovered the doll in her room. Reports indicate that Kira pretended to be pregnant for about nine months, using a prosthetic bump, posting fake ultrasound images, and even fabricating a medical condition for the baby, culminating in a gender-reveal event with pink confetti.
Family members were convinced of the impending arrival of a baby, purchasing baby supplies and gifts happily. Midway through the fake pregnancy, Kira informed her loved ones that the baby had a life-threatening heart defect. However, suspicions arose when the “baby” was found motionless and cold by Kira’s mother, leading to the discovery that it was a realistic but lifeless reborn doll.
