Saudi boxing figure Turki Alalshikh is optimistic about the prospect of Anthony Joshua defeating Jake Paul, believing it would have a positive impact on his involvement in the sport. Jake Paul, who transitioned from a YouTuber to a boxer, openly challenged Joshua earlier this year on his YouTube show, expressing his confidence in defeating the heavyweight champion due to what he perceives as Joshua’s lack of skill and toughness.
Initially met with skepticism, reports recently emerged indicating that a deal is being finalized for Joshua and Paul to face off in a boxing match this Christmas. The anticipated bout is scheduled for December 19, with Alalshikh eagerly awaiting the outcome. Alalshikh, who has been closely associated with Joshua’s recent fights, hopes that Joshua can overcome the challenge posed by Jake Paul.
In a prior interview with Tha Boxing Voice, Alalshikh emphasized the significance of Joshua prevailing over Paul to alleviate the concerns surrounding Paul in the boxing community. While many experts predict a swift victory for Joshua, some, like heavyweight contender Lawrence Okolie, anticipate a more prolonged battle, suggesting that the outcome may not be as straightforward as expected.
The showdown between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul is set to take place in Miami on December 19, just before Christmas. The fight is expected to commence around 11 pm local time, catering to the American audience and airing live on Netflix.
