US Lawmaker Calls for Prince Andrew to Testify on Trafficking

Prince Andrew faces serious allegations of potential involvement in a human trafficking scheme linked to his associate, Jeffrey Epstein, as stated by a prominent US lawmaker. Suhas Subramanyam, a member of the congressional committee investigating the handling of Epstein’s case, is urging Prince Andrew to testify before US lawmakers regarding the sex trafficking activities associated with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Despite Prince Andrew’s consistent denial of any knowledge or participation in the criminal activities, Subramanyam has publicly accused him of holding critical information about how Epstein and Maxwell exploited young women. Subramanyam emphasized the importance of seeking justice for the victims and holding individuals, regardless of their wealth and power, accountable for their involvement in such crimes.

In response to the allegations, Prince Andrew has refused to cooperate with US prosecutors’ inquiries. Notably, Geoffrey Berman, the former US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, highlighted Prince Andrew’s lack of cooperation with the investigations, raising concerns about his commitment to addressing the allegations against him.

While vehemently denying accusations of engaging in sexual activities with Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s alleged victims, Prince Andrew maintains that he was unaware of any illicit behavior during his interactions with Epstein. Despite relinquishing the use of his Duke of York title and honors in an effort to minimize distractions to the royal family, Prince Andrew continues to face mounting pressure surrounding the lease of his Windsor residence and ongoing scrutiny related to his ties with Epstein.

The article also mentions the legal outcomes for Epstein and Maxwell, with Epstein’s death by suicide in 2019 while facing sex trafficking charges, and Maxwell’s conviction in 2021 on sex trafficking and conspiracy charges, resulting in a significant prison sentence.
